About Us

TSC History

The Titusville Sailing Club was founded in 1976 as a vibrant hub for local sailors, hosting regattas, social events, and building a strong sailing community along the Indian River Lagoon. In its early years, the club thrived with an active keelboat fleet, a dedicated membership, and even a clubhouse that served as the heart of our activities. Over time, the club’s size and resources changed, and our clubhouse was eventually torn down. However, we retained our boatyard, which sits right on the lagoon and continues to serve as our base of operations. Though our physical space was lost, our passion for sailing never wavered. Today, we keep the tradition alive with hands-on sailing instruction, monthly flotillas, and a commitment to growing the club back to its former glory. With a focus on education, community, and revitalization, the Titusville Sailing Club remains dedicated to making sailing accessible and enjoyable for all—while working toward a future where we can once again have a clubhouse to call our own.

University of Central Florida at TSC

The Titusville Sailing Club is proud to partner with the University of Central Florida (UCF) Sailing Team, fostering a shared passion for sailing between our members and the next generation of competitive sailors. Through this partnership, UCF stores six 420-class sailboats at our boatyard. The UCF team brings energy and activity to our waters, training regularly during the school year and keeping the spirit of competitive sailing alive in Titusville. This collaboration strengthens our sailing community and paves the way for future growth, skill development, and a deeper connection between collegiate and local sailing.

The TSC Fleet

Catalina 22

Our 1984 Catalina 22 is a well-maintained classic, perfect for the shallow waters of the Indian River Lagoon thanks to its versatile swing keel. This boat has a rich history of competitive success, having won races in its class, and remains a reliable and fun vessel for both leisurely cruising and skill development. Stable, responsive, and easy to handle, our Catalina 22 is a fantastic step up for sailors looking to transition from dinghies to keelboats.

Holder 14

Meet Norma, our Holder 14—a versatile and stable sloop-rigged sailboat perfect for those who want the experience of sailing with a mainsail and jib without the intensity of a 420. With its spacious cockpit, Norma comfortably fits up to four sailors, making it a great option for those looking to sail with friends or enjoy a more relaxed ride. Ideal for learning, cruising, or casual sailing, this boat adds valuable variety to our fleet, offering members a balanced blend of performance and comfort on the water.

Club 420

The 420 is a dynamic and versatile two-person dinghy, making it the perfect next step for sailors looking to advance beyond the Sunfish. Designed for both learning and racing, it offers a stable platform for beginners while also delivering the speed and responsiveness that make it a favorite among competitive sailors. Our club’s 420 is part of a shared fleet with the UCF Sailing Team, giving members additional access to these exciting boats. Whether you’re refining your sailing skills or looking for a thrilling ride, the 420 offers an engaging and rewarding experience on the water.

Sunfish

The Sunfish is a classic, easy-to-sail dinghy that serves as the perfect introduction to sailing for our club members. Its simple design, lightweight hull, and single lateen sail make it incredibly beginner-friendly while still offering a fun and responsive ride for more experienced sailors. As the starting point in our sailing instruction program, the Sunfish helps new sailors build confidence on the water before advancing to larger and more complex boats. Whether you’re learning the basics or just looking for a relaxing solo sail, the Sunfish is a valuable part of our fleet and a favorite among members.
